What We Do
We don't just study families. We translate that research into training people can use and awareness that shifts how policy gets made.
Here's how that work breaks down.
Evidence-Based Recommendations
FPI produces evidence-based recommendations on the family's role in society, disseminated through newsletters, research papers, and policy recommendations.
Current research priorities include:
-
The Family's Social Functions: child development, caregiving, economic security, social cohesion, cultural transmission
-
Strengthening Family Capacity: parental competence, navigating modern challenges, access to support systems, resilience
-
Family Policy and Practice: effective policy mechanisms, scalable interventions, equity and access

Awareness-Raising Initiatives
FPI motivates stakeholders on incorporating a family perspective and child protection framework into social development policy, monitors relevant legislative activity, and works to inform and mobilize communities.
Training Programs
FPI reinforces the support parents receive, equips communities with development tools, and trains young leaders to engage with international institutions through workshops, seminars, and related events focused on family-oriented legislation at local, regional, and global levels.
